The obvious place to decompress after a week in a safari vehicle. Stone Town is a UNESCO site worth two nights on its own; the east-coast beaches are worth however long you have left.

Nungwi and Kendwa have swimmable water at all tides. The southeast coast is quieter but the tide goes out a long way.
